Erotic Romance! Review for Sweet Temptation
Author: Maya Banks

Reviewer Comments: When a woman throws herself at you in the most sexual way possible, it certainly is temptation. Unfortunately for the male character in Ms. Banks’ latest novel, he isn’t so certain it is a sweet temptation. Ms. Banks shares his internal struggle with viewing his best friend’s younger sister as a sexual being with all of her readers and we feel for him as he has to decide if he can accept the grown-up version of her or if she will always remain his friend’s little sister.

Micah Hudson has run from his life in Miami. When his best friend, David, and his wife, Hannah, both died in a car accident, Micah couldn’t handle the pain. He fled without looking back. Micah moved to Houston and has only returned to Miami on the anniversary of the car accident to grieve. Now David’s younger sister has shown up in Houston and she knows all his secrets.

Angelina Moyano moves to Houston to be closer to Micah. She has loved him for as long as she can remember. She knows that he views her only as David’s younger sister, but hopes that he is ready to let go of the past and that she can convince him to move on with her. She has her own secrets, but hopes that between the two of them they can make a relationship work.

Angelina reconnects with Micah in a sex club known as The House where he sees her being whipped by another man and can’t help being drawn to her. Micah is furious when he realizes who the woman he wants to take home really is. He can’t help the protective feelings he has towards her and the attraction feels almost like a betrayal of both David and Hannah.

The agony that Micah feels as he tries to rationalize his feelings for Angelina radiates off the pages of this book as does the intense sexual tension between the two of them. When they give into their desires and have sex, the book fairly steams! The sexual encounters between these two individual are hot, hot, hot! Nothing is off limits for them and Micah doesn’t hesitate to share Angelina with several other men. Ms. Banks provides vivid descriptions of their bedroom antics.

Added to all the hot sex scenes is the subplot of a stalker after Angelina. This man has followed her from Miami despite her best efforts to hide from him. Fortunately for her, Micah works at a security agency. The stalker is eventually revealed and was a complete shock to me. I wasn’t able to figure it out which helped to keep me reading. As if the relationship drama wasn’t enough, I had to know who it was and what would happen when they discovered him.

From the very beginning of this book, the characters are so compelling that you can’t help but enjoy their story. The issues are real and their attempts to work through them are realistic. Granted not everyone plays the same sexual games that these two do, but it works in the context of the story and in the relationship that they have.
