Reviewer Comments: HOT! HOT! HOT! Tracy Wolff’s novel is as hot and steamy as the New Orleans setting. She brings all the sexy eroticism of that city to life and pulls all of us into her tale of sexual slavery and the woman who fights against it.
Lacey Adams moves to New Orleans to write a book on the prostitution ring that was uncovered and broken up over a year ago. True crime is what she writes and she is good at doing the research. As she looks further into the crime, she realizes that things are not what they seem and that she may just be in over her head. Lacey also writes a sexcapade blog where she anonymously shares her deepest darkest fantasies with the world. She had a relationship where sex was ruled by violence and abuse and vows never to give up control in the bedroom to a man again. She just wants a sex buddy without attachments. When her fantasies start to focus on the really hot guy across the courtyard, anything can happen.
Byron Hawthorne gave up a stressful Wall Street job to become a carpenter in New Orleans. He knows it was the right decision and has never been happier. He loves making something beautiful out of wood. He has discovered the hottest blog on the Web and can’t get the author out of his mind. Byron feels as though he has been ruined for any other woman. Imagine his surprise when he learns that the sexy redhead across the courtyard is the author. Now he just has to find a way to break through her barriers and make sure that their one night stand becomes something more.
This story sizzles off the pages with dozens of sexual antics. The sex scenes are graphic an explicit. This is not a book to read in public unless you want a lot of attention about your choice of reading material and the blushes that you will sport.
As descriptive as the sex scenes are and despite the fact that this is an erotic novel, the story that surrounds the sexual encounters also draws the reader into the characters and plot. The sex scenes blend amazingly well with the suspenseful elements of Lacey trying to uncover and stop a sex slavery ring. If you take the sex scenes out of this book, you would find a wonderfully well written story. The sexual encounters between Lacey and Byron serve to enhance the experience of the story without leaving you wishing for more of a plot.
The idea of corrupt politicians and kidnapping of women to be sold for sex build the suspenseful elements of this book. As a reader, I was astonished by how much detail Ms. Wolff was able to get into the story without losing the main focus on the relationship between Byron and Lacey. Everything in this book works in concert with everything else to make a delightful read. It is always a joy to find a book that can blend the erotic with a well thought-out storyline.
