Jenna Banks is completely satisfied with her sex life. Sure, she hasn’t had sex in over a year, but she needs the emotional connection with a man before she is comfortable having sex with him. She just isn’t into one night stands and hasn’t found anyone who interests her lately. Unfortunately for Jenna, her best friends don’t understand this. They enter into a contest for two weeks at a sex resort and to Jenna’s dismay she wins. Jenna vows to go to the resort solely to enjoy the pool, ocean and spa and to not take part in any of the sexual encounters that will be provided for her. She will just enjoy a relaxing vacation.
Then Jenna arrives on the island and meets Brent Powers, part owner of the resort and her personal sex guide for her stay. He is so attractive and Jenna’s sexual juices start flowing. As Brent challenges her to let him direct her sexual pleasure for the next two weeks, Jenna finds it hard to say no. Little does she realize what she is getting herself into and the adventures and fantasies that Brent has planned for her. Brent finds himself challenged by his attraction to Jenna and breaks the rules as he indulges in her fantasies with her.
WOW!!! This book sizzles from the very first step that Jenna takes onto the island of Hotel Erotique. She feels the sexual power in the air and Ms. Alexander translates that to her readers. We feel as though we are there with Jenna as she hesitantly turns herself over to the experience of the island and all that Brent offers her. As Jenna grows more comfortable with her own sexuality, Ms. Alexander challenges her readers to think about their own fantasies. The settings and situations in this novel are vividly described and pull the reader into the story with Jenna and Brent.
I love that this book provides more of a story than just random sexual encounters. Brent has a degree in sexual psychology and he really explains the whys of the fantasies that he creates for Jenna so that we, as readers, understand what is happening. Brent’s growing attraction to Jenna challenges his own thoughts about sex and his role on the island. This book tells the story of two people moving out of their comfort zones and finding a better fit with each other.
It is an erotic novel with graphic sexual scenes that include everything from naughty schoolgirl fantasies to some BDSM situations and lesbian role play. Ms. Alexander explores the spectrum of the human sexual experience without embarrassment or ridicule. The entire book reiterates that sex is a part of normal human contact and that what creates the pleasure one feels is different for everyone.
