Serene is a town where the gate is locked at night to protect the inhabitants. They are a mix of lycan, panther, witches, demons and vampires. They appear to lead normal lives but when the sun sets the creatures come out to play. There are tensions between some of the different species.
Jaclyn Vasenty is a very naughty girl. She has a very strong appetite for sex but needs to tame her image as she is also the heiress to a business and wants to take over that business. She opts to go to a small town where the cosmetics counter makes very low sales to show her business acumen. She dresses as a prim and proper girl might but her desires prove to be stronger. What she finds out in this small town rocks her to the core of her being and changes the way she looks at herself and those around her. As more information is uncovered she struggles to understand what she will become. But she does know that she desires Slyck and the sex she has with him.
Slyck is in charge of security in the town. When he sees Jaclyn for the first time he knows she is trouble. He instantly has a case of lust. He watches as she sexually satisfies herself in her new home (he lives across the road). He can’t hold back and joins her in her sexual games. He realizes that she is the daughter of a rogue panther and has to convince her of this and the fact she is panther. He realizes that Jaclyn is his mate but he has to outthink and outwit Vall for the rights to Jaclyn.
From the first page the reader is shown Jaclyn’s nature by the way in which she has sex with strangers. Her desire for sex only increases when she is close to her lifemate. There are many sex scenes in this story and there is graphic language and imagery as Slyck and Jaclyn get together as often as is possible. For the reader who prefer this type of story, lots of sex, they will like this story. The plot was a little thin at times but the story was set in a context that added to the overall picture. In this story, Ms Fox has set the scene for other stories to be set both within the town and outside the town.
